The sublime control and first touch features set some players apart from the rest. The TrueBall Tech feature allows players to knock or trap the ball during a pass; this can be done by utilizing the analogue stick. A newly introduced M.A.S.S. (Motion Animation Stability System) component imitates the physical contact between players within tailored animations which flow smoothly into each other. M.A.S.S. immediately reacts to every situation instead of a sequence of preset animations being triggered under certain circumstances. This component also takes into consideration factors such as the power and size of players so as to determine the rate at which players recover from stumbles and maintain possession of the ball by blocking opponents. Many new types of tackles have been implemented in Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 as well.
